five talented actresses have been nominated in this year’s 'Best Actress in a comedy movie' category.
The nominees are Ini Edo, Funke Akindele, Lepacious Bose, Abimbola Craig and Nana Mensah

1. Ini Edo - Desperate Housegirls
The actress has been nominated for her character in the movie as a housemaid. The movie starred her alongside Kenneth Okolie, Uzor Osimkpa, Ufuoma McDermott, Belinda Effah, Ime Umoh Bishop among others.
2. Funke Akindele- Jenifa's Diary
The actress has been nominated for her character as Jenifa in the TV series, which is a remake of her hit movies "Jenifa" and "Return of Jenifa."
Funke returned the character to the small screen, after she realized people loved to hear that part of Jenifa in her.
3. Abimbola Craig - Skinny Girl in Transit
Abimbola has been nominated for her character Tiwa in
the web series which follows the story of a plus sized young girl
living in lagos, dealing with the pressures of wanting to be in a
relationship and to be successful.
4. Nana Mensah - An African City
The actress has been nominated for her character Sade in
the web series which follows five beautiful African women, raised in
the west, who return home to search for love in a continent quite
different from the Africa of their childhood.
5. Lepacious Bose - Being Mrs Elliott
The actress has been nominated for her character Bimpe in the 2014 romantic film which was directed by Omoni Oboli.
The
movie revolves around two women, who find their worlds colliding with
each other. Their lives are turned upside down as they meet two men, who
are on a different path in life until unusual circumstances bring the
women into their lives.
